  • To use your points you must redeem them as funds onto your Ocean Rewards® Member Card
  • The Member Card is not transferrable, and except where required by law, the Card is not redeemable for cash

Is this a credit or debit card program?
No, this isn't a credit or debit card program. It's a rewards program where you can shop online at OceanRewards.com for hotels, home goods, merchandise, wine, gifts cards and more and earn up to 25% back, depending on your membership tier, in Ocean Points™ on every purchase. These points may be redeemed as funds to pay for anything and everything to do with your cruise on five of the World's Leading Cruise Lines®. As a member, you'll receive an Ocean Rewards® Member Card with the American Express logo that lets you redeem points as funds for payment with our five brands. Why can’t I sign up using a P.O. Box?
In order to receive your Ocean Rewards® Member Card, you will need to provide a physical address for us to get it to you.
How do I know how many Ocean Points™ I’ve earned?
You’ll see how many Ocean Points™ you’ve earned in the ‘Redeem’ section of the Ocean Rewards® website. Once Ocean Points™ have been redeemed as funds to your Ocean Rewards® Member Card, you can check your balance by calling 833.249.6098 or visiting AmexRewardCard.com/OceanRewards.
What happens to my Ocean Points™ if my account is no longer in good standing?
If your account is not in good standing (e.g., your account is delinquent) or you are otherwise in violation of the Member Agreement, you will not be able to access any of the Ocean Points™ in your account, and your points may be forfeited per the subscription terms and conditions. Ocean Points™ that have already been redeemed and loaded onto your Ocean Rewards® Member Card will be subject to the Member Card terms.
How do I redeem or transfer Ocean Points™?
Once you're ready to use your points, log into your account and click ‘Redeem’ in the upper right-hand corner. From here, use the slider to select the number of Ocean Points™ you want to redeem as funds onto your Ocean Rewards® Member Card. After you complete this process, funds will be ready to use within 30 minutes, and you can verify the balance by visiting AmexRewardCard.com or calling 833.249.6098.
How do I make a payment? How long does it take?
You'll first need to redeem your points as funds and within 30 minutes of doing so they'll be loaded onto your Ocean Rewards® Member Card. You're now ready to use the Member Card as payment with your travel advisor or directly with the participating cruise lines. For more details on the terms and conditions of your Member Card, please see the Cardholder Agreement at AmexRewardCard.com/OceanRewards.
Is there a limit to how many Ocean Points™ I can redeem at once?
Yes, there's a limit. You can't load more than 2,000 Ocean Points™ onto your Ocean Rewards® Member Card at any one time because there is a $2,000USD maximum balance limit on the Member Card. If you want to redeem more than 2,000 points, you'll first need to use all the funds on your Member Card then redeem the additional points at least 24 hours apart. If I book with a travel agent or directly with the cruise line can I use my Ocean Points™ when booking?
Yes, you can! Simply redeem points as funds to your Ocean Rewards® Member Card, then give your Member Card information to the cruise line or your travel advisor at the time of booking.
Can I use the funds on my Ocean Reward® Member Card as payment toward an existing booking?
Yes, you can! Simply redeem points as funds to your Ocean Rewards® Member Card, then give your Member Card information to the cruise line or your travel advisor at the time of booking.
On which cruise lines can I use my Ocean Reward® Member Card as payment?
Currently, five of the World's Leading Cruise Lines® are participating in the program including: Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard, and Seabourn. The Member Card cannot be used as payment on Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises ships that operate Australian itineraries because they operate in Australian Dollars not U.S. Dollars (which is the program’s operating currency.)
Can I use Ocean Points™ toward my deposit for a future cruise?
Yes, you can! Simply redeem points as funds to your Ocean Rewards® Member Card, and use it to make your deposit.
What is the Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
The Ocean Rewards® Member Card is your membership Card in the Ocean Rewards Program. Members earn Ocean Points™ for purchases made on the OceanRewards.com website which may then be redeemed as funds and added to your Member Card. The funds are usually available within 30 minutes. Remember 1 Ocean Point™ = $1USD. You can use your Member Card as prepaid reward card which will allow you to pay for goods and services with our five participating cruise lines, including all or part of your cruise vacation. The Card may be used with travel advisors or directly with the five participating lines. The Card is a prepaid card and may only be loaded and reloaded by Ocean Rewards® in accordance with the Ocean Rewards® Program terms and conditions.
Where can I use my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
You're welcome to use your Member Card as payment when working with travel advisors and with participating cruise lines (online, by phone, and onboard.) Participating cruise lines include: Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard, and Seabourn.
Is the Ocean Rewards® Member Card available in multiple currencies?
The program only operates in USD, so the Ocean Rewards® Member Card is not accepted on ships that sail with a functional onboard currency other than USD. While you should always call the cruise line to double check, this should only apply to Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises ships operating Australian itineraries.
When will I receive my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
If you're an Ocean Rewards® Select member, you'll receive your Member Card within two weeks of completing the enrollment process. If you have signed up at the free level you'll need to request a Member Card. You can quickly and easily do this by logging in, clicking 'Redeem', selecting 'Request Card', and filling out the address form. If you haven't received your Member Card or have questions, just give us a call at 844.GO.OCEAN.
How do I activate my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
As soon as you get your Member Card, visit AmexRewardCard.com or call 833.249.6098 to activate it.
When should I redeem Ocean Points™ to my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
We recommend waiting to redeem points to your Member Card until you are ready to use them. For more details on terms and conditions of your Card, please see your Cardholder Agreement at www.AmexRewardCard.com/OceanRewards.
Does the Ocean Rewards® Member Card come with money on it?
When you receive your Ocean Rewards® Member Card it will have a $0 balance. Once activated it will be ready for you to redeem earned Ocean Points™ as funds to pay for anything and everything to do with your cruise. Remember, 1 Ocean Point™ = $1USD!
Can I use multiple Ocean Rewards® Member Cards to make a payment?
As long as the provider (cruise line or travel advisor) allows for multiple payments, you and another member (or more!) are welcome to share the cost of a cruise or onboard amenity.
Does Ocean Rewards® sign me up for Membership Rewards? Do I earn benefits with Membership Rewards?
Ocean Rewards® is a separate program and is not affiliated with the American Express® Membership Rewards Program. You will not earn American Express Membership Reward Points as a part of the Ocean Rewards Program.
How do I check the balance on my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
You can view your Member Card balance by visiting AmexRewardCard.com/OceanRewards.
What do I do if I lose my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
Give American Express a call at 833.249.6098 and a new Member Card will be sent with your current funds balance intact. Please note you'll be responsible for any replacement fees.
If I cancel my cruise booking do I get a refund back to my Ocean Rewards® Member Card?
Refunds follow each cruise line's policies so you should check in with them before you finalize payment. Generally, if you cancel your reservation outside of the penalty period, you'll receive a refund for the amount you paid. If you are within the penalty period, you'll receive a refund based on each line's cancelation policy.

Ocean Points™ must be redeemed for funds by the member. Funds will then be placed on the Ocean Rewards® Member Card. Use your Member Card to pay for goods and services at participating brands.
